Thumbprint Cookies

 

 

- 1c All Purpose Flour

-1/4c Brown Sugar, Packed

-1 Egg

- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract

- 1/2c Softened Butter

- 1/4c Finely Chopped Walnuts

-2/3 of Any Fruit Jam

-1/4 tsp Salt

 

Preheat Oven to 300°F.

Separate egg yolk and white. 

Combine butter, sugar, and egg yolk.

Add vanilla, flour, and salt. Mix well.

Shape dough into balls. Roll each ball in the egg white, then in crushed walnuts. Bake for 5 minutes.

Remove cookies from oven. With thumb or spoon, dent each cookie. Put jam in the thumbprint and bake for another 8 minutes.
